The Alicante-based club is launching a digital platform designed to centralize its relationship with fans, better understand its community, and create new value-driven tools for sponsors, academy players and its commercial operations
Alicante, 31.08.2026. — Lucentum Alicante is taking a new step in its growth and digital transformation strategy with the launch of a new application developed in partnership with Blocksport, a company specializing in digital solutions for sports organizations.
The project has a clear objective: to create a digital ecosystem owned by Lucentum that brings together the club, its fans, sponsors and academy players in a single space.
The new platform will allow the club to move beyond a model primarily focused on reach and visits towards one in which it can better understand, engage with and support every member of its community.
The challenge is particularly relevant in an environment where clubs increasingly rely on external platforms and social media to communicate with their fans. Blocksport’s solution aims to provide the club with its own digital space, featuring a registered user base and the ability to generate insights into how its community interacts with the club. The company’s experience across other projects also highlights the potential of tools such as gamification, voting, predictions, direct communication, and the integration of commerce and sponsorship activations.
A more direct relationship with fans
The application will provide a more personalized experience and turn fans into active participants in the Lucentum ecosystem.
The platform will enable the club to offer official content and communications, participation-based experiences, gamification, voting, predictions and other activities connected to the club’s sporting activity.
These tools create new touchpoints with fans and encourage a more recurring relationship with the club, extending beyond attending games or following Lucentum through social media.
The platform also enables direct communication between the club and its community, reducing its dependence on social media algorithms to reach fans with news and content.
A new opportunity for sponsors
The transformation goes beyond the fan experience. One of the project’s key objectives is to provide sponsors with measurable insights into their presence within the club’s digital ecosystem.
The native integration of brands will allow the club to develop contextualized activations and gather information based on the actual interaction of a registered and engaged audience. Blocksport’s model includes dedicated tools that enable sponsors to access information about the visibility and engagement generated within the platform.
This will allow the club to evolve from a measurement model based primarily on estimated reach towards one in which digital activations can be analyzed with greater precision.
Ionut Georgescu: “We are not launching an app, we are building Lucentum’s digital home”
Ionut Georgescu, COO of Lucentum Alicante, highlighted the strategic dimension of the partnership:
“With this platform, we stop counting visits and start getting to know people. And that changes everything: for fans, because the experience becomes personal; and for our sponsors, because their presence within the Lucentum ecosystem becomes measurable and attributable, rather than estimated.”
Georgescu also emphasizes that the project goes beyond simply implementing a technology solution: “The agreement with Blocksport goes far beyond technology. Their team works side by
side with our Operations Department — marketing, sales and events — providing
knowledge and resources across each of our areas. We are not talking about a supplier; we are talking about a partner that becomes integrated into the club’s structure.”
A shared vision focused on building community
On behalf of Blocksport, Vladimir Liulka, CEO of Blocksport, highlights the shared vision with the club and the strategic role of the platform:
“We are delighted to join forces with a historic and ambitious club like Lucentum Alicante. From day one, we have shared the vision that digitalization in sport is not just about implementing technology, but about building true communities. Our goal is to be the strategic partner that provides them with the ideal environment for their new ‘digital home’ to strengthen fans’ sense of belonging and multiply the value for their sponsors.”
Blocksport’s experience in European sports
Blocksport already works with leading sports organizations, including Partizan, ARIS BC, AS Monaco and ratiopharm Ulm, bringing its experience in creating and managing digital ecosystems for sports clubs.
This experience provides Lucentum Alicante with additional confidence as it embarks on a long-term project designed to bring together the club’s different areas of digital engagement within a single ecosystem.
The goal is for the club to progressively develop new functionalities and experiences while maintaining ownership of its digital ecosystem and the community built around it.
“Blocksport already works with clubs such as Partizan, ARIS BC, AS Monaco and ratiopharm Ulm, and that experience gives us the confidence that we are not launching an app here: we are building Lucentum’s digital home. One place where fans, sponsors and our academy players can all come together,” Georgescu concludes.
A new space for the entire Lucentum community
The new application will be progressively integrated into the club’s digital strategy and aims to become
a permanent meeting point for the entire Lucentum community, extending beyond game day.
The project will allow the club to continue developing new functionalities and experiences around four key pillars: fans, community, business and academy.
With this partnership, Lucentum Alicante is committed to building a direct, sustainable and club-owned digital relationship with its community, using technology not as an end in itself, but as a tool to better understand its people, create new experiences and generate value for everyone who is part of the club.
